| Stage plan sketch for O'Shanigans
and a dance caller. For contra dances. See diagram below. O'Shanigans [ HOME ] From stage-right to stage-left: Dance Caller (vocals) -- Vocal mic on a mic stand with a long cord (cordless is nice if possible). Mike Ludgate (Mandolin, occasional Banjo or Fiddle) -- needs an instrument mic on a mic stand.. Tim Ball (Fiddle) -- has his own clip on microphone for his fiddle; it requires phantom power and an XLR to XLR balanced mic cable. Phil Robinson (Guitar) -- needs an instrument mic on a mic stand. Other miscellaneous gear ... some noted in the drawing below. 4 - Chairs: 3 for the instrumental musicians, 1 for the dance caller. 2 - Stage monitors (or 1 nice one) for the instrumental musicians. 2-4 room speakers for the dancers: Small hall 2, larger hall with bigger crowd 4. General information: The contra dancers form in long lines perpendicular to the front edge of the stage: up and down the hall. The stage should be at one (narrow end) of the hall. Stage size requested minimum 8 feet deep x 16 feet wide.
